FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Will I be able to bring family and friends to the races and the barn area to see my horses?

Answer: We will provide seating and passes for the partners when our horse runs. We love the excitement that only a large group in the Winner's Circle can bring. We will also have Stable Tour days, where the partner's can come out and see their horses and feed them carrots and see how the barn operates. This is a very exciting aspect of becoming a partner, and we encourage you to bring guests to also enjoy this side of the sport on those days.

Question: When will we buy the horse for the claiming group?

Answer: After all the money is collected, our trainer's Doug O'Neill, Mike Puype and managing partner Scott Williams will start looking in claiming races and for private purchase opportunities. This process can take a number of weeks because we will be very diligent with our search as to find the best possible animal.

Question: When will the horse be able to run?

Answer: After we acquire the horse, the best case scenario would be that the horse would run back in 3-4 weeks for our claiming partnership. Being patient and avoiding the temptation to run a horse when he is not ready is one of the biggest keys to success in this sport and we feel that this is one of best traits of our current trainers.

Question: Will I have any input of how the horse is managed?

Answer: Although we will take any suggestions from partners under advisement, all final decisions regarding the horse’s career will be made by managing partner Scott Williams and our trainer's.

Question: If our horse makes money, when will I see any dividends?

Answer: The partnership lasts for a one year term. After that year is up, the partners will meet and vote on what will be done with the assets and liabilities of the partnership group. A vote would be taken on whether to sell the partnership horses and take out the money, continue with the partnership, or a number of variables of each. Our trainer's and the Managing Partner will offer suggestions based on their past experience and knowledge of the business, but the final decision will end up in the partner's hands.

Question: How much contact will we have with the Trainer?

Answer: Although the trainer welcomes visitors and is very personable, any contact will be channeled through the Managing Partner. As you can imagine, the trainer has a very busy work day and if all the partners tried to have contact with him , this would create a logistic nightmare. We will have stable tours where you will be able to walk around his shed row and we also will have question and answer sessions at our quarterly meetings. All partners will be given an opportunity to express concerns to the trainer at these sessions.
